TCMPi5 tips to make your sales incentives more effective

Sales Incentives

Most sales leaders agree that it’s important to offer sales incentives that go beyond normal compensation and bonuses. If done right, those rewards can become the most powerful ingredient in driving the kinds of behavior you want to see in your sales force. Here are 5 easy tips to make sure your incentive efforts are doing what they need to do:

1. Be Consistent

If you run a quarterly sales contest, make sure to run one every quarter. The goal is to motivate your team to do their best, day in and day out. Think about your runners up – if they barely missed the win in Q2, they’re going to want another chance to redeem themselves in Q3. If you don’t give them that opportunity, your incentive plan will surely fall flat. Instead, give them every chance to prove themselves by offering a consistent program.

TCMPi ChoiceEvents allow gift recipients to pick and choose the reward they want to receive rather than simply accepting the gift you want to give.

“Wait, really?! You’re kidding! This is amazing!”

“I can really pick out which one I want?!”

“This is so much better than what we got last year!”

As the Event Manager at TCMPi, I hear these exclamations and cheers at the start of virtually every ChoiceEvent I host. While these events take me all over the world from Hawaii to Mexico and the Caribbean, and even a quick trip to Monaco, there’s one commonality among them all: people like picking out their own gift. And they love it when the gift is a stylish new pair of  Classic Aviators or a shiny new Tommy Bahama watch.

So what’s a “ChoiceEvent?”

ChoiceEvents allow guests to actually interact with their gift. We all know that pillow gifts and generic tchotchkes can get old after a while. Why not spice things up! Sending your top employees on a tropical vacation? Add some fun by letting them try on an assortment of Ray-Ban sunglasses right on the beach. Hosting a national sales meeting? Have guests take a break from back-to-back meetings with a custom Tommy Bahama watch fitting. Whether you are hosting a meeting, an incentive trip, or a charity golf tournament, a ChoiceEvent adds an element of excitement and surprise. Some of the best events I have hosted are ones in which the guests are not even aware of the gift they are getting until they see a display table of sunglasses or watches – Surprise! Start trying them on!

How It Works

The best part about hosting a ChoiceEvent is that TCMPi takes care of everything. You tell us how many people are attending the event, where and when it’s being held, and we take over from there! Select from Ray-Ban, Oakley, Tommy Bahama, or Alex and Ani and we will provide you a variety of stylish products for your guests to select from. We bring all of the inventory directly to your event so guests can walk away with their new gift right then and there – how easy! No need to worry about having to set-up or tear down – we take care of that too.

Schedule your ChoiceEvent today!

Your TCMPi Account Representative will help you choose the right brands and products for your budget. They’ll arrange all the details and get you ready for the big event. Don’t know who your TCMPi Rep is? Just sign into your TCMPi account and you’ll see his or her name and contact information right on your account Dashboard.
